Ceramic fiber crucible tubes feature low thermal conductivity and low heat capacity. They deliver stable performance at high temperatures, are dust-free, and free of shot fallout. With excellent heat insulation, energy-saving and eco-friendly properties, their waste causes no environmental pollution.
Widely applied in metallurgy and non-ferrous metal industries, especially investment casting, they operate at 1400–1650 ℃ with superior dimensional accuracy.
As consumables for single use, they work in the casting process: metal bars are melted, welded with wax shells and co-formed with the tube. Molten metal flows into the shell to cast target parts.
Three raw material categories are used for crucible production: crystalline natural graphite, plastic refractory clay and calcined hard kaolin grog. Since 2008, high-temperature resistant synthetic materials including silicon carbide, alumina, emery and ferrosilicon have been adopted as crucible grog, which greatly improves crucible quality, density and mechanical strength.
